Dundas Room
Dundas Room
On leaving the Matheson Dome you enter the Garden area with a pathway leading to the Dundas Room. The Dundas Room is the only search room in the ScotlandsPeople Centre located in
New Register House.
Floor plan

The Dundas Room has space for
47 searchers and is primarily for the use of professional searchers and genealogists with season tickets.

DIGROS searches
The majority of seats in the room have access to the DIGROS system rather than the ScotlandsPeople Centre system. If people who are not professional genealogists want to use the DIGROS system, we have six seats available. The seat numbers generally available are seats D1, D2, D13, D18, D27 and D28. Once these seats are filled, no further seats will be released unless the day search places are full.
See the search room plans for details of seat locations.
If the Centre is very busy, searchers may be placed here.
Assisted searches
The Dundas Room is also where the
Assisted Searches take place.
Printers
There are
two printers here, one for the DIGROS system and one for the ScotlandsPeople Centre network. Prints cost 50 pence each and are payable in advance. You can also save images to a memory stick at a cost of £1 per image.
Other facilities
Two adjustable desks are also in the Dundas Room suitable for wheelchair users. If you would like to use one of these desks please book them before your visit to ensure they are available. There is also a microfiche/film reader which can be used to view film or fiche if the digitised image is of a very poor quality.
The Reference
Library is located here, as are two
microfiche/microfilm units.
