Customers unable to visit us during the working day can book group evening visits.

These visits allow organised groups to search the records of the General Register Office for Scotland. This means that customers will not be able to search the records of the Court of the Lord Lyon or the National Archives of Scotland. Supervision and assistance will be provided by our staff.

Times

All visits take place in the Dundas room between the hours of 18:45 and 21:15 any evening from Monday to Thursday, or at other times by agreement with us if these hours are unsuitable.

Cost

The cost is £200 for group sizes up to 20 and £250 for group sizes between 21 up to 40 persons.

At the time of payment you must supply a list of the names of all the members of your group.

To ensure staff are available, you will need to pay us no later than one week before the visit, or we shall cancel your booking. You can pay by cash in person at the ScotlandsPeople Centre, but please do not send cash through the post. You may pay by Maestro, Visa or MasterCard or by sterling cheque made payable to 'The Scottish Executive'. If you cancel the visit after paying you may not receive a full refund.
